BEFORE CONSTRUCTION

In order to accomplish the Salvacion's intentions for more floor area to house their growing family, Drafting Solutions proposed to add two new upper levels above their existing one story residence in Waipahu.  Initiated in March of 2008, the design consisted of a split level theme with the second level being above their existing carport and the third floor at a higher elevation being above the existing first floor.  The scope of work included the design of a 700 s.f. addition above their carport for a new bathroom and single bedroom.  It also included a new 1,800 s.f. floor above their existing first floor roof which would be the new third floor.   The third floor would be supported by new CMU columns that penetrated the existing ground floor and roof.  It consisted of 3 new bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms (including a master suite, master bath, and walk-in closet), a new wet bar, and a new master balcony.  

DURING CONSTRUCTION

Upon completion of the design and permit, construction was initiated in August of 2008.  New footing foundations were installed and the new CMU pillars were erected to support the new third floor.  The upper floors consisted of new wood framing and new vinyl windows.  Currently, the interior walls are being framed out and the installation of the roof sheathing is underway.
